Frequently Asked Questions — First Dance Lessons
How many lessons do we need to be ready? The Choreography package (8 sessions of 1.5h) is the most popular: in 12 total hours, you’ll master a personalized choreography with confidence. Complete beginners often start with the Discovery package (4 sessions) to gauge their progress.
Do we need dance experience? No. Our lessons adapt to all levels, from complete beginners to experienced dancers. The choreography is created based on your level and comfort.
Can we choose our song? Yes, absolutely. You choose the song, and we create the choreography around it. We can also suggest songs suited to your preferred dance style.
Where do the lessons take place? Lessons take place at Canton Swing studios in Granby, or at a space you propose. Travel to other Eastern Townships locations is possible, with travel fees depending on the distance.
How far in advance should we start? Ideally, start 3 to 6 months before the wedding so you can progress without pressure. Some couples start 6 weeks out with the Discovery package — possible, but we recommend not waiting too long.
Can guests also take lessons? Yes. We offer group lessons for your guests, ideal for getting everyone on the dance floor and making the evening more festive.
